In no particular order of importance; just my train of thought over the past few days.
12 Life Hacks For Creatives
⭐ Silence is golden. Quiet is the new loud. In social media, in your marketing, in your life, in your mind. There’s a subtle shift happening online.
⭐ Going to bed early is OK. Sleep is not a luxury. It’s a delighful necessity. Don’t feel obliged to stay up if you’re tired. There’s no need to drag the day out for the sake of it.
⭐ Hire a cleaner & someone to do your ironing. Outsource the mental load of housework. It frees you up to be more creative. And don’t feel guilty – you’re helping money flow into another person’s life. That’s a win-win.
⭐ Ditch revenue goals. Make creation & lifestyle goals instead. Money will follow. Or not, for a while. Then it will.
⭐ Cook a proper meal each day – fuel your body properly. Time poverty is an excuse.
⭐ 80% of success is simply showing up. Most people don’t bother or make totally 200% valid excuses, so you’re ahead already.
⭐ Buy yourself flowers. For no reason. Flowers are beautiful. We are happier when surrounded by natural beauty.
⭐ If you’re an artist, watch the movie Velvet Buzzsaw on Netflix. I just finished watching it. Art world meets some scary, energetic undertones: art = energy. Great cast.
⭐ Do not be afraid to be yourself. It might look weird, like this newsletter. But really, life is too short to be someone else.
⭐ F*ck being the CEO of anything. It’s been such a trendy concept for the past 5 or 6 years. It’s been quite exhausting. Just do your creative thing, be yourself, earn the money you need, enjoy your life. End of.
⭐ People matter. 98% of people are lovely, doing their best. Don’t let the drama and negativity of the 2% be your focus. Pro Tip: don’t watch those nasty, manipulated reality TV shows. Not your circus, not your monkeys.
⭐ Start a new art sketch pad or creative journal in the middle. That way you won’t feel the pressure to make page 1 a masterpiece!
